After a tragic incident on the football field, another shocking news has emerged from the cricket field. South African veteran Faf du Plessis, who is part of Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2021, suffered a head injury after a collision with teammate Mohammad Hasnain. The cricketer has been taken to the hospital for tests.

How did Faf get injured?

The incident happened during the 7th over of Peshawar Zalmi's batting innings. David Miller smashed a shot straight down the wicket off the bowling of Mohammad Nawaz and the ball seemed to be going towards the boundary. This is when a flying Faf du Plessis came up with a brilliant diving effort to save the ball from crossing the rope. In the process, the Protean unfortunately got his head smashed against the knees of Mohammad Hasnain who was running towards him. Although he tried his best to avoid the collision, the evasive action was not enough as it was quite a scary sight for the viewers.

After it was reported that du Plessis has been taken to hospital for scans, the fans were delighted to see the veteran cricketer back in the dugout. However, the 36-year-old was ruled out of the match due to concussion and was subsequently replaced by 19-year-old batsman Saim Ayub who came out to open for Quetta Gladiators in the second innings.
