Juventus, managed by Thiago Motta, have reportedly turned down the offer to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the upcoming January transfer window, showing interest in bringing his teammate and striker Joshua Zirkzee back to Serie A. After being left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad for the fourth consecutive match in all competitions, Marcus Rashford is seen by many as someone who is surplus to requirements of Manchester United.

Notably, as per the report from The Sun, Marcus Rashford is looking to leave Manchester United as early as the January transfer window, and he has been offered to some clubs across Europe recently including Juventus and Barcelona. However, Juventus have decided to not go after the England international despite Thiago Motta being keen on adding reinforcements for the second half of the season.

Juventus are interested in Joshua Zirkzee of Manchester United after his summer transfer from Bologna

The biggest stumbling block for European clubs in regards to signing Marcus Rashford seems to be his £350,000-a-week wages apart from his transfer fee, which might have been a deciding factor for Juventus to not sign him. At the same time, the Italian giants are interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee, who had made his £36.5 million summer move from Bologna in Serie A to Manchester United in the Premier League despite him struggling in England in recent months.

Moreover, when Ruben Amorim was asked recently about whether Marcus Rashford has done anything different in training sessions and off the field, to claw his way back into the matchday squad of Manchester United, he indirectly indicated that nothing has changed. The new club manager from Portugal was quoted as saying, “If he (Marcus Rashford) is not here you can make up your mind. It’s always the same reason it’s going to be.”

“We have to be the same professionals, I have to be the same guy, winning or losing. Losing, I have to be stronger so I will continue with my idea until the end,” Ruben Amorim further said.
