The record-time Indian Premier League winners Mumbai Indians made it to Qualifier 2 as they took down Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator on May 2. They will now challenge the reigning champions Gujarat Titans to secure their spot in the final clash of the season opposite the four-time IPL winners, Chennai Super Kings. The Mumbai-based franchise put forward its best show and demolished the Lucknow-based franchise by a whopping 81-run margin. After the one-sided thriller, former India and Mumbai Indians spinner Harbhajan Singh was spotted with the winning squad members.
Singh, who was part of the MI squad till 2017 met mentor Sachin Tendulkar, skipper Rohit Sharma and batter Suryakumar Yadav as they dominated the Eliminator in Chennai. He was dressed in a blue-coloured shirt, resembling the jersey colour of his former team. In a video posted on the official social media handle of the franchise, the skipper told Singh that he should have been there on the field donning a Mumbai Indians jersey and bowled two overs. In the video, Harbhajan asked Sharma, “How are you?”, to which Sharma replied, “You should have donned Mumbai’s jersey, and bowled two overs in the match.” The 2011 World Cup-winning player replied, “agar kaptaan sahab bulayenge toh aayenge (If the Captain calls, I shall be there)”. He then went on to meet Sachin Tendulkar and Suryakumar Yadav and shared a few moments of laughter.

Notably, Mumbai Indians defeated LSG by 81 runs, and they will now clash against Gujarat Titans on May 26 in the Qualifier 2 of the season. The team that emerges victorious in the game will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings on May 28, Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium to take the trophy home.
