Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been extremely vocal throughout the T20 World Cup in Australia. But as Pakistan lost to England in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Akhtar expressed heartbreak as he posted a 'heartbreak emoji' on his Twitter account.

But this isn't the reason why Akhtar's tweet has gone viral but rather because of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami. The West Bengal seamer posted a cheeky reply as he wrote, " Sorry brother  It’s call karma 💔💔💔".

Moments after this tweet, Shoaib Akhtar posted a video where he praised the Pakistanis as they stitched up an incredible campaign in the tournament and the spirit of the team as they pulled a magical comeback after losing the first two games and then reaching the finals.

Akhtar praised his team's bowling and explained the role of luck in the World Cup. He said,  “Pakistan lost the world cup but you guys did a great job. You were standing nowhere but ultimately; you played the finals. Well done Pakistan’s bowling attack. You guys did an exceptional job throughout the tournament. Luck was indeed a factor but they played well and made it to the finals,” said Akhtar in a video.

The former fast bowler also discussed the turning point of the game where pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi pulled out of the game after suffering an injury in the 15th over of the game. It was a neck-and-neck game until that point but soon England found an advantage and took home the title.

“Koi baat nahi… Shaheen getting unfit was the turning point of the game but we need not bow down our heads. It’s okay. Ben Stokes got hit for five sixes in 2016 and lost the World Cup for England. But he found redemption in 2022 and won it for his team,” he added.
