Kavya Maran, the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, looked deeply disappointed on camera as Abhishek Sharma got dismissed by Michael Bracewell at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. As depicted by her viral reaction, the current season of the IPL has been a massive letdown for SRH, who was once tipped by many fans and experts to be their top-4 side at the end of the league stage.

In match 65 of the Indian Premier League 2023, Faf Du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bowl first. His decision was proven correct as fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell plugged the scoring rate of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first four overs.

On the first ball of the fifth over, bowled by Michael Bracewell, the opener Abhishek Sharma threw his wicket away as he slapped an innocuous delivery straight to the cover point fielder Mahipal Lomror, to the sheer disappointment of SRH owner Kavya Maran.

In the same over, Rahul Tripathi, the fellow opener partner of Abhishek Sharma, got dismissed by Michael Bracewell as well. The captain Aiden Markram for SRH was unable to score any boundaries during his 18(20), but he did stick around with Heinrich Klaasen to build a decent partnership of 76 runs.

The South African international kept on attacking the RCB bowlers to bring up his maiden century in the IPL. Before getting dismissed on 104 off 51 deliveries, Klaasen stitched together a 74-run stand with Harry Brook to help propel the Sunrisers Hyderabad total to 186/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
