The runners-up of Premier League 2024-25, Arsenal have completed the signing of Spanish international Kepa Arrizabalaga on a three-year deal from Chelsea. The 30-year-old will join Arsenal in a reported £5m deal and be a key part of Mikel Arteta’s project, ending his seven-year tie with their North London rivals, Chelsea. In new colours, Kepa will be eager to make an impression on the manager and will be fighting to earn his spot in the team alongside his fellow international team-mate David Raya.

Kepa seemed excited to be a part of the team as he stated, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, “My feeling joining this club is that we are so close to winning, this is the project I really wanted.” In the previous season, Kepa was loaned out to Bournemouth by Chelsea, where his performances did the talking. He made 38 appearances for the Cherries in which he managed to maintain 9 clean sheets with the club.

Kepa keen on winning the league with Arsenal in the upcoming season

Back in 2018, Kepa became the most expensive goalkeeper of all time when he signed for The Blues in a deal worth £72m. He later went onto have a successful stint at Stamford Bridge till 2023, managing to win 4 major titles, including the Champions League and the Europa League. Kepa joined Real Madrid when the Madrid starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was injured and out for the rest of the season. He went on to win some crucial matches for Los Blancos. After his loan, he came back to Chelsea and was loaned out again to the Cherries for the Premier League 2024-25.

Kepa believes that Arsenal have what it needs to win the Premier League. With the winning mentality, he aims to boost the morale of the entire Arsenal squad and aims to be an effective leader for the Gunners in the upcoming campaign.
