Former England cricketer and captain, Kevin Pietersen slammed a UK journalist for supporting England's team loss against India in the recent ODI and T20I series. Moreover, he is in no mood to entertain any defense of the England cricket team's decision to miss golf practice sessions during their recent whitewash against India, in which they were defeated in seven of eight games across formats. Pietersen has slammed Jos Buttler's team for failing to put up a fight against India, losing a five-match T20I series 1-4 before being swept 3-0 in the subsequent ODI series.

In a recent post on his official X account, Pietersen claims to have received a story from a UK journalist mentioning that England skipped training due to "injuries" and a "quick turnaround" between games. In reply to this, he wrote, "Do me a f*****g favor! If you’re going to write such rubbish, particularly about people like me, stop writing about cricket! Injuries are a part and parcel of sports, and this sort of schedule has been the norm in almost every bilateral series ever played. Injuries weren’t stopping the batters from facing net bowlers and learning the art of playing spin. And that’s what they could have done to IMPROVE!”

Kevin Pietersen vents his frustration on the England team's lack of net practice

The reason behind Kevin's blast over England's poor performance is Ravi Shastri's comment during the match. Ravi Shastri, while doing the commentary on the third ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, stated that England "had just one net session this entire trip, if not any." and stated that the team did not work hard enough to demonstrate improvement.

Kevin showed his shocking response to Shastri's claim. In reply, he posted, “I’m sorry, but I am gobsmacked that England did not have ONE team practice session since losing the 1st ODI and losing the T20 series. How can this be? Seriously, how? I believe Joe Root was the only player to be in the net in this series, post-Nagpur," he posted.

England's whitewash against India is quite a concern for the team as the most-awaited Champions Trophy 2025 is going to begin soon. Moreover, the team’s inability to counterattack spinners was the major issues.
