India registered a thrilling win over Pakistan in the high-octane clash on Sunday. The Men in Blue beat Pakistan by five wickets to open their Asia Cup 2022 campaign on a high. There were some really impactful performances that helped India win the match, but there were a few failures too. While the likes of Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Virat Kohli did their bit, the opening pair of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma could not create an impact.

In fact, India lost their first wicket on the very second ball of their innings in the form of KL Rahul who was dismissed for a golden duck by Naseem Shah. The right-handed batter could do nothing but deflect the ball onto his stumps to see them going for a toss. This nothing-shot from Rahul attracted a lot of criticism. People recalled his dismissal at the 2021 T20 World Cup where the batter had lost his wicket in a similar fashion.

Rahul was trolled heavily on social media. Amid all this, the Indian cricketer’s old post with the caption “Pretending I know how to play” also started doing rounds. Users reshared this post and trolled the cricketer. “Ya bro everyone knows now,” wrote one user while sharing the post from KL Rahul.

It’s too much!

Other also joined this user in trolling Rahul as they commented on this post. “How about tryna scoop some of them.. straight-batting them isn't working a lot atm,” commented one user while “Last year T20 wc against Pakistan Newzealand now against Pakistan. It's too much he is talented waste” wrote another.

Notably, Rahul made a comeback to cricketing action after staying out for almost three months. He made a comeback with the Zimbabwe series but the batter did not have a great outing there as well. Rahul could only manage 1 and 30 in the two innings he played.
