Pat Cummins doubtful for ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025

Meanwhile the TV commercial for the much-anticipated Champions Trophy rests at one side, the Aussie skipper remains doubtful for the tournament. On Wednesday morning, Australia head coach Andrew McDonald hinted that he’s unlikely to join the team due to the ongoing ankle issue, which has failed him to return to bowling till date.

Andrew McDonald also added that if Cummins misses out, either of Steven Smith or Travis Head could lead Australia in the CT 2025. "Pat Cummins hasn't been able to resume any type of bowling so he's heavily unlikely, so that would mean that we do need a captain. Steve Smith and Travis Head are the two that we've been having conversations with while we've been building out that Champions Trophy team along with Pat back home. They'll be the two that we look at for that leadership post,” McDonald told SEN.
