Kolkata Knight Riders have released a short film which is a tribute to Sunil Narine's journey with the Kolkata franchise. The film highlights the all-rounder's incredible journey as a cricketer who overcame all possible odds. This short film has been released on KKR's YouTube channel. Fans sent out their good wishes and also remembered the  memories from the struggling phase that Narine faced.

Notably, Sunil Narine was reported for suspect bowling action in 2014 during the Champions League T20, which put his entire career at stake. Not only once, again in 2020, the off spinner was faced with a similar incident, both of which would have affected his cricketing career. Narine is the all-time leading wicket-taker for KKR with 143 wickets in 134 matches, occupying the 7th spot in the all-time bowling list of the cash-rich league. He has played an integral part in the franchise's double league triumph and even featured in the Champions League T20 Final back in 2014.

During the Indian Premier League of 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders had a rough phase during the initial phase, then COVID-19 pandemic had forced the league to be postponed. On its resumption, the Kolkata Knight Riders were able to make a strong comeback and ended their 2021 journey in the second position after losing to CSK in IPL 2021 final.

Speaking of Sunil's journey with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he said,"There's no other place I'd like to be than KKR because I have played all my cricket here and I would love to continue representing the franchise. It's a home away from home, my second home. So, I hope it can continue"
