Harbhajan Singh-led India Maharajas notched up a thrilling victory against World Giants at iconic Eden Garden on September 16 (Friday). The match featuring legends of the game, which was organized in order to celebrate the 75th year of Independence of India brought the memories of yesteryears.

Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan and right-arm medium pacer Pankaj Singh delivered dominating performance in the game, guiding India Maharajas to register six-wicket win in the game. After Jacques Kallis opted to bat first, World Giants opener added 50 runs for first wicket and the side was cruising ahead on the back of blistering knock from Kevin O'Brein (52 off 31). But Harbhajan Singh, Joginder Sharma and Pankaj Singh bounced back strongly in the game to pick quick wickets. Denesh Ramdin (42* off 29) and Thisara Perera (23 off 16) played a fine innings to post a competitive total 170/8 on board.

In response, India Maharajas had a disappointing start as explosive batter Virendra Sehwag got dismissed in the first over of the second innings. But Tanmay Srivastava (54 off 39) held the fort from one end until he got much-needed support from Yusuf Pathan (50* off 35), who once again flaunted his batting prowess by smashing two maximums and five boundaries in his run chase.

The match turned out to be a treat to watch as Irfan Pathan, who came in the middle after Tanmay's dismissal in the 18th over brought back the old memories when he along with elder brother used to win games for the Team India. Irfan played 9 balls but smashed three sixes to score 20 runs including final match-winning maximum. Witnessing both the brothers once again in the middle was a delightful sight for all the Indian cricket fans.

After India Maharajas clinched the game, Twitter was flooded with several posts congratulating the duo for playing yet another match-winning innings.
