As Indian wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant is celebrating his 25th birthday on Tuesday (4 October), wishes from all corners poured in for him. Almost everyone from the Indian cricket fraternity wished the dashing cricketer on his special day. Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer also shared his wishes for Pant. But as it is with Jaffer, it was not a standard message.

The former cricketer shared a meme while wishing the 25-year-old. In fact, he took a dig at the team management as well as Pant. Jaffer shared a picture of the wicketkeeper batter with Indian team captain Rohit Sharma. In the first frame, Sharma is seen wishing Pant a happy birthday. He then asks what the batter would want as a gift. When Pant replies with “batting”, Sharma is seen making a face indicating he is unsure about it.

To those who do not get it, Rishabh Pant has not been getting a chance to bat lately. He has been in and out of the playing XI as well. With Dinesh Karthik cementing his place with every passing game, Pant’s chances of getting included in the playing XI during the T20 World Cup are also dicey. As India play their last T20I match before they head to Australia for the T20 World Cup  later on Tuesday , it will be interesting to see if Pant gets a birthday gift from the management.

Coming to Pant’s journey so far in international cricket, the wicketkeeper batter has achieved quite a few milestones. He has scored centuries in Australia and England. His match-winning knock of 89* in the Gabba Test still remains one of the best Test innings played by a wicketkeeper batter in the recent past. Pant has represented India in 199 matches across formats and has scored 3897 runs. He also has 179 dismissals to his name.
