French superstar Kylian Mbappe has been allowed by Paris Saint-Germain to train with the first team again following ‘positive’ talks between the player and the club. Mbappe was previously asked to train with the reserves after he informed the Parisian club of his intention to run down his current contract and leave for free next summer. Efforts to sell the player have been unsuccessful so far this summer with the 24-year-old squarely considering only a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. PSG have informed Mbappe that he must be sold this summer if he isn’t going to sign a new contract, or he must sit out a whole season on the bench.

It was reported that Doha was at their wit’s end with this situation. Real Madrid and PSG were at a standstill with neither club willing to make the first move this summer. The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Al-Thani, informed PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi that Mbappe is not to play a single minute of first team football this year if he is set on leaving for free. The stance seems to have softened and now Mbappe is allowed once again to train with Luis Enrique’s first team.

Photos from his first session back have gone viral on Twitter, and show how adored the Frenchman is in the Paris camp. Mbappe is seen walking through PSG players and staff as they all pat him on the back.

Neymar to leave PSG this summer, Mbappe in contra ct extension talks

According to ESPN, Kylian Mbappe might be staying in Paris after all, following a new round of talks concerning a contract extension. On the other hand, it appears that Neymar Jr will be leaving the club this summer. After being left out of PSG’s pre-season tours in Asia, Mbappe was expected to not feature for the club at all. Now, however, it looks like the player has been allowed to rejoin training and will feature in Luis Enrique’s plans going forward.

Neymar is bringing the curtain down on his time at Paris. The most expensive transfer in history, Neymar guided the club to multiple domestic trophies and a Champions League final. While his time in Paris was marred by drama off the field and injuries, nobody can deny the sporting and commercial impact the Brazilian has made.

As reports surround, he will be making a move to Al-Hilal in the Saudi League this summer. The player will reportedly earn EUR 80 million per year on a two-year contract.
