Charles Leclerc was sanctioned for impeding Lando Norris in qualifier for Monaco Grand Prix, ceding third place on the grid. Reacting to it, McLaren’s Lando Norris poked fun at the Ferrari driver after he was given the third-place grid drop. The British driver, who was on a fast lap in the crucial moments of the qualifying session of the Monaco Grand Prix 2023, was blocked by Leclerc in the tunnel section.
Leclerc had already completed his session, and was seen wavering in the tunnel, where he unknowingly intruded Norris’ lap. For this, he was given a three-place penalty, Norris took to social media to post a hilarious tweet poking fun at Leclerc. He posted a meme about the famous Leclerc-Verstappen collision during their junior days. After the qualifying round, Norris said in an interview, "With Charles's incident, it's always tough around here. I guess it did ruin my lap. But the stewards obviously deemed it necessary, I guess. I think he did what he could. But when you listen to the team radio, they're just telling him about Verstappen's lap and giving him live updates, rather than concentrating on who's behind him, which I don't really understand. But it is what it is."
His tweet went viral in no time, and it left the fans in splits. Here are some of the best reactions:
Notably, Leclerc qualified P3 for his home race but will start from P6 after the penalty. He felt that the session was tricky, and the car was not in his hands for the entire time.
