The Laver Cup 2022 is scheduled to take place at The O2 in London, England from September 23 to 25. Recently, World No 15 Matteo Berrettini and American sensation Tommy Paul joined Team Europe and Team World , respectively, for the fifth edition of the Laver Cup.

The 26-year-old Italian reached the finals at Gstaad and quarterfinals at the US Open this year. Earlier, Matteo Berrettini defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime while representing Team Europe in Boston.

On the other side, the 25-year-old American got the better of World No 3 Alexander Zverev at Indian Wells and No 4 Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of the Montreal Masters this year.

Alternates are the integral members of their teams and participate in all appearances and preparations. However, they can participate in the competition when a teammate is injured or withdraws from the tournament.

The players from the winning team in the Laver Cup receives an award of $250,000 each but the victories don't reflect on their World Rankings. Swiss star Roger Federer went undefeated in the 2017 edition and holds the records for most singles matches won (6) and most total matches won (8).
