Laver Cup 2022: Man sets arm on fire in dramatic protest before Roger Federer's last match

The unidentified man was quickly dragged outside of the arena before the play finally resumed.

A Climate change activist fired his arm on the court at the Laver Cup 2022 on Friday, during the second singles match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman. Tsitsipas had just clinched the first set before the incident took place.

The unidentified man was quickly dragged outside of the arena before the play finally resumed. According to the officials, no damage has been done to the playing area. In the end,  Tsitsipas secured a 6-1, 6-2 victory over  Schwartzman.

The environmentalists have taken a strong stand against private air and sea journeys, which rose on account of pandemic restrictions for the past two years. In this regard, a 10% tax was imposed by Canada on luxury aircraft and yachts effective September 1.

The bizarre incident happened just hours away from the most anticipated Roger Federer’s farewell game, wherein Nadal will be his doubles partner. The duo will face the American pair of Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock.
