It is to be noted that wicketkeeper-batter Laxmi Yadav sustained an injury during training. She was bought at her base price of INR 10 Lakh in the Player Auction in February 2023.

“Unfortunately, I had to return home with an injury. Obviously, it is not ideal because we have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and when the opportunity came, I got injured. But we should not lose hope due to injury", Laxmi said in a video posted by the franchise.

Opening batter Shivali Shinde has been drafted as her replacement for the remainder of the season. The 26-year-old has played for her state team along with representing India A in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy.

Talking about UP Warriorz stint in the ongoing Women’s Premier League, the side began their campaign with a three-wicket win over Gujarat Giants before losing a match against Delhi Capitals Women. They will next go head-to-head with Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore Women on March 10 at the Brabourne Stadium.
