The ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 is around the corner with its opening fixture between the defending champions, England, and last edition's runners-up New Zealand, in a remake of the 2019 World Cup final, is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, October 5. Ahead of the World Cup, India star batter Virat Kohli has issued a "humble" instruction for his friends, and his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma also responded.

Team India will begin their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on Sunday, October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and veteran batter Virat Kohli has told his friends to not ask for the World Cup match tickets.

The 34-year-old Kohli took to Instagram and posted a story that read, "As we approach the World Cup, I would humbly like to let all my friends know to not request me for tickets at all through the tournament. Enjoy from your homes pls" with a laughing emoji.

Responding to Kohli's story, Anushka Sharma also took to her Instagram and posted a story saying, " And let me just add... please don’t request me to help if your messages get unanswered. Thank you for your understanding. "

India will enter the World Cup without playing any of their two warm-up matches against England and the Netherlands as they were abandoned due to rain. Recently, Kohli travelled home citing personal reasons during India's warm-up clash against the Netherlands, however, the Indian stalwart has re-joined the team ahead of the World Cup.
