Lionel Messi has been hogging all the limelight recently. Not only did he recently led Argentina to their first international trophy in 28 years, but his picture with the Copa America trophy also became the most liked sports post on Instagram. However, the 34-year-old did not have the best of experience while he was on a vacation after the historic night in Brazil. The captain of the Argentina and Barcelona side was, in fact, mobbed by hundreds of fans while he was leaving a restaurant with his family in Miami in the United States.
Although it is a well-known fact that Messi has a tremendous global fan appeal, he wouldn't have expected his three-week holiday to be interrupted by such an awry experience. The matter became so worse that it required security officials to come and help Messi to escape from the situation as each and every member of the crowd wanted to have a piece of him, with most of them wanting to get clicked with the six-time Ballon d'Or winner.
A report carried by TyC Sports claims that Messi was "besieged by a crowd" as they all wanted to take a pic with him. Meanwhile, a video of the incident has also emerged.

While Messi is only on a vacation in the United States, earlier several reports had linked him to a move to the Major League Soccer team Inter Miami after his contract with Barca expired in June. However, recent reports reveal a different story. If the latest is to be believed, Messi and Barca are closing in on a contract that will see the forward stay put at the club till 2026. Moreover, it is also being learnt that the star Argentine has agreed to a substantial wage cut to prolong his association with the club.
Barcelona's record goal-scorer and appearance maker has won 35 club titles with them, including four Champions Leagues trophies. He has netted 672 goals in 778 matches for the club during his marathon stay with them. After being adjudged the Best Player of Copa America, Messi is leading the race to grab his seventh Ballon d'Or.
