The Karnataka all-rounder was bought by CSK franchise for a price of 9.25 Crores in the IPL 2021 auction. The all-rounder played a key-role for RR in IPL 2018 and performed well in domestic T20 league like KPL (Karnataka Premier League).

Krishnappa Gowtham set his base price as just 20 Lakhs initially but he went upto 9.25 crores in the auction due to heavy fight showed by teams like KKR & SRH as well bidding process. Gowtham despite being the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history didn't play a single match for CSK in that season.

Note:- Krishnappa Gowtham made his international debut in Jul, 2021 vs Sri Lanka but first phase of IPL 2021 already was concluded with initial matches being played from 9th Apr to 2nd May.
