Liverpool have reportedly rejected the £58.6 million bid for Colombian forward Luis Diaz from Bayern Munich on Tuesday, July 15, during the ongoing summer transfer window. It is understood that earlier this month Liverpool had told Bayern Munich that the player was not for sale when the approach was made for him, and now, the rejection of the first offer proves just that despite the player wanting to leave the club.

Notably, as per the report from BBC Sport, Luis Diaz’s current contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2027, and the club values him at a whopping £87 million since he is an important player in the squad. In the recently concluded 2024-25 season, he scored 13 out of 22 goals for club and country in the Premier League, to play a massive role in helping Liverpool win their second title since the inception of the league.

Liverpool are interested in signing Alexander Isak, which could make them sell Luis Diaz eventually

Apart from Bayern Munich, the clubs in Saudi Arabia are also interested in signing Luis Diaz, while Manchester City had approached Liverpool last season for the player, only to get turned down. After signing the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez in the ongoing summer transfer window, Liverpool are interested in bringing in forward Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, to further strengthen their attacking resources.

If Liverpool manages to sign Alexander Isak, who is valued at around £120 million, then it could have ramifications in regard to Luis Diaz’s stay at the club. To finance a big deal for Isak, Liverpool might allow Diaz to leave for Bayern Munich at a lesser price than their initial valuation of £87 million, but it could be a smart business overall for the Merseyside club knowing what both of them bring to the table.
