Chennai Super Kings finally ended their five-match losing streak as they registered a convincing 5-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in match number 30 of IPL 2025 at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday, April 14. Chasing a target of 167 runs, Shivam Dube scored a match-winning 43 runs off 37 balls along with skipper MS Dhoni’s quickfire 26*(11) runs as CSK chased the target in 19.3 overs losing five wickets.
After the match, Shivam Dube reflected on win over LSG and said that CSK is not a team that loses five matches in a row. “This means a lot, losing 5 games in a row that is not CSK, our bowlers bowled really well and today I had wanted to stay tilll the end and I had this thought that I wanted to finish the game and I felt this is the time to take the game very deep after losing few wickets in the middle. It's not about the mindset and it is about playing according to situation which is why instead of attacking, I felt taking the game deep was a better option,” Dube said as quoted in Cricbuzz.
My plan was not to hit the ball very hard: Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube played a steady knock of 43 runs guiding CSK to a convincing win over LSG in the last over. After the match, the left-hander said that LSG bowlers were executing the plan very well and he wasn’t looking to hit every ball out of the park.
“My plan was very simple which is not try and hit the ball very hard because bowlers were executing very well. Taking positives from this game to next game is very important,” Shivam Dube said.
