Virat Kohli is one of the greatest cricketers of the current generation and has shattered several records in his 18-year-old cricketing career so far. His dedication and love for the sport is hidden by none and has been passionate for cricket since his childhood. Recently, Kohli’s teacher from his Vishal Bharti School in Delhi revealed what he used to say to her during his school days.
Virat Kohli has studied at the Vishal Bharti School till the ninth standard. One of the teachers from the school Vibha Sachdeva revealed some of Kohli’s stories from his school days. Sachedva revealed that Kohli used to say to her that he would become the next Sachin Tendulkar of the Indian team one day.
"His eyes were very expressive. Virat was an active participant in all the school activities, he was an enthusiastic and eager participant of all the interhouse activities. ‘Ma’am, I will be the next Sachin Tendulkar of Indian Team‘ was the oft repeated quote, yes at that time sometimes it made us smile at the sheer grit and confidence of the wide eyed boy”, she was quoted as saying by Cricadium.
Virat always scored well in his exams: Vibha Sachdeva
Speaking further Virat Kohli’s childhood teacher Vibha Sachdeva also revealed that apart from his cricketing skills, Kohli also had great academic records and used to score well in the exams. She said that Virat was an above average student and only used to lose his marks when he gave more time to cricket practice.
“Virat always scored well in his exams. He was an above-average performer, and the only time he would lose a few marks was when his practices took his time away. ‘I prepared for my exam late after I came back from my practices', Was something that we used to hear very frequently from him. He worked very hard to excel in both sports and academics, and the teachers at Vishal Bharti Public School, Paschim Vihar fully understood his struggle and cooperated with him by giving him added guidance,” she further said.
