The prolific T20 leagues around the world have emerged as a blessing for the cricket fraternity as it has helped several playing and retired cricketers to escape their financial woes in life and enjoy a luxurious lifestyle. While the current players earn a hefty sum by playing in these leagues, many former cricketers are also making good life by being involved in these leagues in several roles.

While the evolution of cricket has given opportunities to cricketers of all ages to make a good life, few are still left behind and are struggling to make ends meet. Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has recently revealed that he is completely dependent on the INR 30,000 pension from BCCI and revealed that he has no other source of income due to which he is going through a tough time.

"I am a retired cricketer who is completely dependent on the pension from the BCCI. That's the only source of income I have. But in order to maintain good lifestyle I am looking forward to getting some assignments from Mumbai Cricket Association," Kambli revealed during his interview with Mid-day.

Days after Vinod Kambli made this shocking revelation, reports have suggested that a businessman from Maharashtra has extended a helping hand to the former cricketer with a lucrative job offer for the southpaw. Reportedly, Kambli has been offered a job in the finance division of Sahyadri Industry Group in Mumbai with a monthly salary of Rs. 1 Lakh. However, the 50-year-old cricketer is yet to respond to the latest offer.

Kambli's last cricket assignment was in 2019 when he coached a team in the T20 Mumbai League at the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in Nerul. Speaking of his international career, Kambli started off on an astonishing note as he amassed 793 runs in his first seven outings in red-ball cricket, averaging 113.29 with the help of two double centuries in his first four matches.

However, Kambli failed to build on that initial form could not keep his place in the national team. He played 104 ODIs for India and scored 2477 runs. Meanwhile, in 17 Test matches, Kambli scored 1084 runs with 227 being his highest score.
