Premier League club Manchester United are now part of the race with Newcastle United and Chelsea, to get Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, as per various reports. All of these  English teams are named as the only clubs that can afford Neymar, who is still the most expensive player in football history.

Le Parisians had signed the Brazilian for a record €222 million from Barcelona in 2017 which had broken the footballing economics. The reports also say that Manchester United could look to bring in the Brazilian international if the Red Devils pushed to sell their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. However, the report also states that Neymar will not leave Paris this summer, with the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The reports about Neymar’s transfer are based on speculation about the Brazilian’s negative reaction to the comments made by PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The Qatari Businessman talked about how the club demands its players to improve after every season while giving 100% effort.

Al-Khelaifi said, “A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all players to do a lot more than last season, said the president of PSG. A lot more! They must all to be 100%. Obviously, we weren't good enough to go far.”

“For next season, the objective is clear: to work every day at 200%. To give everything we have for this shirt, give the maximum and we will see the result. We have to become humble again. We have to change to avoid injuries, suspensions and fouls that change a game.”

I was and still am very happy to be here: Ronaldo

But talking about leaving Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo had addressed these rumours last month and proclaimed that he was ‘happy’ at Manchester United. “I was and still am very happy to be here, and what I have to say to the fans is they are amazing,” Ronaldo said.

“Even when we lost games, they always support us, they always are with us. The supporters are always in my heart and it’s the people that we all should respect because they are always on our side. For me, the most important thing is to try to win the games and try to win some championship or some cup but I believe that Manchester will be where they belong. As I say, before, sometimes it takes time but I still believe,” he continued.
