The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star will down in the history books as one of the most successful and popular English players of all time.

In a recent development, the Oscar-winning director Fisher Stevens and John Battsek are collaborating for Netflix's David Beckham documentary series. 'The Cove' director Fisher Stevens is set to helm the project and will produce alongside 'Searching for Sugarman' producer John Battesk. As per reports, Beckhamx's production studio Studio 99 will make the series in association with Battsek's Ventureland.

The former footballer who played for clubs such as Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, is currently the owner of Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, will share the details and struggles of his life. The ex-Manchester United player on Wednesday wrote on the Instagram post, "I am excited to confirm that I am partnering with Netflix on a documentary series about my life and career."

He further informed that the documentary series will feature unseen archives, untold stories as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of his journey.

According to a report published in Variety, the documentary series is currently in production and will explore Beckham's humble working-class beginnings in East London, and will capture 'the drive and determination that led him to become one of the most recognizable and scrutinized athletes of all time.'

The reports further confirmed that the series promises 'never-seen personal footage from the last forty years' and interviews with David Beckham's family, friends and key figures in his life. The elite list of Beckham's friends includes the likes of Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, Guy Ritchie and Elton John. The Beckhams recently hosted an A-list wedding of their own recently when their eldest son Brooklyn married ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ star Nicola Peltz, whose father is billionaire Nelson Peltz.
