Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo is set to receive a fine of at least £1million for his explosive interview with Piers Morgan as reported by Daily Star. In this interview, the 37-year-old slammed Man United manager Erik ten Hag, and the Club’s board and also called out the standards of the club.

Ronaldo had a no-holds-barred interview with Morgan, which was aired hours after Manchester United registered a thrilling extra-time 2-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Ronaldo missed the victory because of an illness which kept him out of the Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa on Thursday.

Previously, Ronaldo was fined two weeks’ wages in October when he didn’t come on as a substitute during another game against Tottenham Hotspurs. Rather the striker decided to walk down the tunnel before the match had finished.

In the interview, the Portugal international stated that the current Red Devils’ manager Erik ten Hag doesn’t respect him and hence he also doesn’t have any respect for the Dutchman. "I don't have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn't show respect for me. If you don't have respect for me, I'm never gonna have respect for you.” Ronaldo said in a fragment of the interview that will be released in full on Wednesday on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’.

Ronaldo also called out the senior executives at Old Trafford, who tried to push him out of the club before the start of the 2022 -23 season. "Manchester United tried to force me out," he said. "Not only the manager but the other two or three guys who are around the club [at the senior executive level]. I felt betrayed. I don't care, people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn't want me here, not only this year but last season too."
