India coach Manolo Marquez came up with the 28-member probable squad on May 7, 2025. The team will come together in Kolkata on May 18 to start training for the upcoming FIFA International window, set to be held in June. India are gearing up for the Asian Cup 2027 Final Round qualifiers. Blue Tigers are placed in Group C and they are sharing the pool with Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The tournament is being conducted in the round-robin format. The Blue Tigers are expected to face a tough challenge against Hong Kong at the Kai Tak Sports Park on June 10.
The initial two Group C games between India and Bangladesh on March 25 and Singapore and Hong Kong on March 26 concluded in a stalemate. With these draw matches, all four matches are holding one point respectively. India will undergo a 10-day camp in the City of Joy before travelling to Bangkok to take on Thailand in the FIFA International Friendly. Following the game against the Thai side, the side will subsequently travel to Hong Kong for the Asian Cup qualifier.

Marquez’s probable team features a blend of veterans and young talents. Veteran Sunil Chhetri will be leading the pack and his responsibility will be to lead the side from the front to achieve the objective of winning the Asian championship.
