Whereas now the fight will be the main event of March 25 at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

But UFC has not officially announced the changed schedule or a new headline fight for the February 18 event. Vera and Sandhagen are the No. 4 and 5 ranked fighters in UFC’s bantamweight division, respectively.

Vera (22-7-1) comes into this fight after a terrific 2022. In 2022, he defeated Rob Font and Dominick Cruz in main-event appearances. Whereas Sandhagen (15-4) enters this bout after a stunning TKO victory over Yadong Song in September at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. This knockout helped the American end his two-fight losing streak against TJ Dillashaw and Petr Yan.

But ahead of the fight, Cory Sandhagen wasn’t impressed by his in-form opponent as he deemed his fight style unreliable. While talking to MMA Junkie, Sandhagen stated that he isn’t extremely impressed by Vera’s winning streak and his technique is capricious and erratic.

“Not really, honestly,” Sandhagen said. “I think the way that he’s been winning is not a reliable way to win. When I think about some of the best fighters in the world or what I foresee myself trying to become, which is the best fighter in the world, it doesn’t involve a lot of unreliable winning. It involves strategically beating them in every moment and having just very reliable ways to win.”
