With the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) nearing half-stage mark, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently issued a stern warning with several trying to get into illegalities of the tournament. The Indian cricket board sent out a loud warning to all the IPL stakeholders about a businessman, based out of Hyderabad, who has been trying to potentially commit illegal acts.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the BCCI has cautioned the franchises, its stakeholders, cricketers, coaches as well as members of the support staffs about the potential approaches, which have come into light by the businessman. Furthermore, the report from Cricbuzz adds that the Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) believes that the businessman has links to bookies.

The report states, "One of the methods reportedly employed by him involves approaching family members of franchise owners, players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators." As per the report, the individual, who is currently under questioning, has tried to get himself close to the participants and is often spotted at team hotels and in the matches.

Speaking of the ongoing cash-rich league, with al teams having played at least five matches, the points table looks surprising. While the Gujarat Titans have claimed the top spot with four wins and two losses, five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings are reeling at the bottom-most spot, having won only two matches. In match number 32, Delhi Capitals will host Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, April 16.
