In a recent development, Max Verstappen secured the pole position on Saturday for the French Formula One Grand Prix for Red Bull. The Belgian-Dutch racing driver set a time of 1:29.990, beating Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton by 0.258 seconds. Meanwhile, Hamilton’s teammate Valtteri Bottas finished third.

The results are from the Paul Ricard Circuit, where Mercedes tend to dominate. However, they will have to settle in for Hamilton starting from the front row second with his teammate Bottas following him. By contrast, Paul Ricard hasn’t traditionally been a happy hunting ground for Red Bull but they have a chance to change history with Verstappen securing the pole position. It should be noted that Sergio Perez was also in the race and will begin from the fourth position.

The news of Verstappen's pole was even shared by the official social media handle of Formula one, who even shared a short clip. "Pole position number ? for @Max33Verstappen!" the video was captioned.

Moreover, Ferrari’s Carlos is set to start his race from P5 with Pierre Gasly in the AlphaTauri in sixth. Charles Leclerc, in the other Ferrari, will start from seventh place. Although Lando Norris was the fastest McLaren of the day, he will have to settle from P8. Fernando Alonso will begin from P9 for Alpine, while Daniel Ricciardo will start from P10 for McLaren.
