Virat Kohli is more than a cricketer. He is a brand in himself. A global ambassador of the sport of cricket, Kohli is widely recognised as one of the finest batters in the modern-day game and has a massive fan following with his Instagram followers count already reaching 172 million.

To gauge how big that number is, it should be noted that no other Indian celebrity has a followers count of over 100 million. And now even Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has taken to the photo-sharing app to post about how mighty King Kohli is. In contrast to Kohli's 172 million followers count, Bachchan said that he merely has 29 million.

"She sent it to me .. saying to look at myself .. I did, and gave it up for others too .. that be the story behind the post .. honest truth .. and the numbers still elude .. Virat the highest and the mightiest at somewhere in 160 m plus .. and look Ma, me at barely 29 m, tux and all notwithstanding," the legendary actor captioned the post.

Here is his post:

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli recently lost his ODI captaincy to Rohit Sharma after the latter had already replaced him at the helm in T20Is. Kohli had earlier expressed his desire to continue to lead India in ODIs and Test matches while stepping down as captain of T20Is, the Board and the selectors felt having two white-ball captains would not be an ideal way forward.

Virat will however continue to be the skipper of the team in Test matches and will be in charge of the Indian side which tours to South Africa later this month. An Indian team has never managed to win a Test series in South Africa and under Kohli, the team would like to conquer the final frontier after having already registered wins in Australia and leading the series in England.

Kohli will also be determined to get back to scoring big runs with the bat, having last made an international hundred in November 2019. If he does so, the job of winning a series in the rainbow nation will become easier for the Men in Blue.
