The biggest of the T20 stars are going under the hammer once again as former IPL auctioneer Richard Madley is hosting the players' auction for the upcoming highly anticipated SA20 League. After securing their core in pre-signings, the six teams owned by IPL franchises are engaging in a thrilling battle to rope in quality players, featuring 248 South African and 252 overseas players. The inaugural season of the South African Twenty20 league (SA20) is likely to take place in the January-February window in 2023

MI Cape Town, owned by Reliance Jio - the owner of IPL's most successful franchise Mumbai Indians signed the likes of Kagiso Rabadda, Dewald Brevis, Rashid Khan, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone before coming to the auction. With the remaining purse of Rs. 17 million, MI Cape Town opened their account by securing the services of top-order batter Rassie van der Dussen for a whopping Rs 3.90 million.
