Mumbai Indians registered their fifth consecutive win as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in match number 45 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With the help of half-centuries by Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav, MI posted 215 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, LSG were bowled out for 161 runs in 20 overs as MI registered a big win.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, MI lost their first wicket in the form of Rohit Sharma (12 runs) at the score of 33 runs in 2.5 overs. After that, Ryan Rickeltton and Will Jacks added 55 runs for the second wicket. Rickelton got out after scoring 58(32) runs, hitting six fours and four sixes while Jacks scored 29 runs off 21 balls. After that, Suryakumar Yadav took charge of the innings and scored 54 runs off 28 balls, hitting four fours and as many sixes.

Jasprit Bumrah scalps four wickets as MI register convincing win

Corbin Borch also scored a quickfire 20(10) runs while Naman Dhir gave finishing touches with 25*(11) runs as MI crossed the 200-plus run mark. For LSG, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan took two wickets each while Prince Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi and Digvesh Rathi scalped a wicket each.

Chasing the winning target, LSG kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Ayush Badoni top scoring with 35 runs off 22 balls. Jasprit Bumrah turned out to be a star for MI with the figures of 4/22 in his spell of four overs. Apart from that, Trent Boult also took three wickets as MI bowled LSG out for 161 runs after the end of 20 overs. Will Jacks also took two wickets. With this win, MI now jumped to the second spot in the points table with six wins and four losses so far.
