The summer transfer window is open and clubs are busy plying trades with top footballing stars. Spanish club Barcelona are also looking to strengthen their squad for upcoming seasons and for that they are targeting a few top names in club football at the moment. Liverpool and Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, who had a brilliant Champions League is also on Barcelona’s radar.

However, the La Liga giants could not rope in the Egyptian this season considering his contract with the Reds. But Xavi Hernandez has his eyes set on the golden boot winner and is planning to get him at Camp Nou next season. According to a report in the Mirror, FC Barcelona are aiming to get Salah on a free transfer next season, when his contract ends with Liverpool.

Although the Egyptian had said ahead of the Champions League final that he is staying at Anfield for this season, he is well aware of the interest being shown in him. And that could be possibly the reason he stalled on agreeing on a new deal, after informing close friends a few months ago that he was ready to extend his Merseyside stay. "I don't want to talk about the contract now, I'm staying next season for sure, that's clear,” said Salah.

Salah drawing interest from Barcelona comes as a new jolt to Liverpool, who haven't been able to have Salah continue for what began as a five-year deal at Anfield. The Reds are already about to lose a prolific striker in Sadio Mane after he made his intention to leave the club very clear. He has also been rumoured to join Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, armed with a £235million naming rights deal with audio streaming platform Spotify, Xavi’s Barcelona are ready to revamp Camp Nou. They are really close to signing Polish star Robert Lewandowski stating that his time with the German champions are over.
