Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Hafeez looked frustrated with the current situation in his country when he shared a tweet on Wednesday (25 May). The former all-rounder who has never shied away from taking a stand on different matters did it for one more time as he slammed the Pakistan government for the unavailability of basic needs in the country. Hafeez shared a tweet in which he complained about the unavailability of petrol in gas stations and the shortage of cash in ATMs.

“No Petrol available in any petrol station in Lahore??? No cash available in ATM machines?? Why a common man have to suffer from political decisions,” Hafeez tweeted on Wednesday.

Notably, Pakistan is going through political tension at the moment. Lahore witnessed clashes between supporters of Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and police on Wednesday. Pakistani police fired tear gas, baton-charged, and detained supporters of the ousted prime minister to stop them from reaching the capital Islamabad to demand fresh elections.

Pakistan to host West Indies for 3 ODIs

As Hafeez has retired from international cricket, he won’t be a part of the Pakistan team for their three ODIs against the West Indies. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is hosting West Indies for three ODIs in June, which are scheduled at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on 8, 10, and 12 June. PCB also announced a 16-member squad for the series a couple of days ago.

Babar Azam will be leading the Men in Green while Shadab Khan, who has returned after recovering from an injury will play Babar’s deputy. “Babar Azam will continue to lead the side, while Shadab Khan, who missed the Australia ODIs due to an injury, has returned as vice-captain,” said PCB in a statement.

Pakistan squad for West Indies ODIs: Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper/batter), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper/batter), Mohammad Wasim Junior, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani and Zahid Mahmood.
