A day after Lahore Qalandars clinched the 7th season of Pakistan Super League, Mohammad Rizwan, skipper of Multan Sultans, has been named as captain of Team of the Tournament. Rizwan was bestowed with Player of the Tournament after his incredible performances throughout the tournament. While leading the Multan Sultans, Rizwan amassed 546 runs in 12 matches and hit seven half-centuries.
Notably, Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultan by 42-run in the final. Mohammad Hafeez was star for the side, who scored 69 off 46 with bat and clinched two crucial wickets with the ball. Harry Brooks (41 off 22) and David Wiese (28 off 8) were the other notable batting performances for Lahore Qalandars, which helped the side post a competitive total of 180 runs in 20 overs. Lahore Qalandars' skipper Shaheen Afridi also made the cuts in team of PSL 7 after his super bowling effort. Surprisingly, the leading wicket-taker, Shahnawaz Dahani (20 wickets in 11 games), was not included in the PSL 2022 Team of the Tournament.
Apart from Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Rashid Khan, and Zaman Khan are other notable inclusions from Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 2022 Team.
