Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has finally tested negative after a long wait of testing positive for COVID-19. Shami, who missed out the three-match T20I series against Australia after testing positive for COVID-19, was ruled out of the upcoming South Africa series as well. Notably, India is set to host the Proteas for three-match T20I series, followed by three ODIs.

Talking about Shami, the 32-year-old has been named in the standby list for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Australia in October-November. After fans had questioned him of the negative result earlier yesterday, the pacer hogged the limelight for this response on social media.

Shami, who is not so active on social media, had shared a reel sharing his current situation as he recovers from the virus. Out of a lot of comments, one user asked him, “Covid positive result Kab Negative Hoga?” To this the pacer, captioned the reel stating, “Mujhe Nahi Pata hai” with a bollywood music in the background.

However, finally the pacer has tested negative and has shared his report as an Instagram Story.

Talking about the South Africa series, Mohammad Shami and Deepak Hooda have been ruled out with India announcing the revised squad for the series. Umesh Yadav, who replaced Shami for Australia series continues to be part of the South Africa tour, with Shreyas Iyer replacing Deepak Hooda and Shahbaz Ahmed coming in place of rested Hardik Pandya.
