Monty Panesar hints at Harbhajan Singh joining politics post retirement

Cricketers in India enjoy a massive fan following and even after they hang their boots, the popularity remains the same and the media keeps on speculating about them. On Friday, India's one most of the most successful and highly reputed off-spinner Harbhajan Singh announced his retirement, via a Twitter post. Numerous tributes started pouring in congratulating Singh for an illustrious career and for being such a great brand ambassador of Indian cricket.

Harbhajan Singh, via YouTube, informed his fans that he is looking forward to start a new chapter in his life. Netizens and as well as journalists were quick to speculate that Harbhajan might join politics. Harbhajan's recent picture with Navjoth Singh Siddhu added fuel to the fire.

Even England's left-arm spinner Monty Panesar while talking to SportsTiger also indicated the same. "Harbhajan Singh had an illustrious career on and off the field both. As Singh tried his hands out in acting, sports presentation, commentary and now I am hearing that he is joining politics as well", Panesar revealed

"Harbhajan was a great player in all the formats, and he contributed to some of the historical wins for Indian cricket. He was also handy with a bat. And just like that, he may be able to succeed in attracting youngsters towards his ideas and work in politics", Panesar further added.

While England's former spinner hinted towards possibilities of Harbhajan Singh joining politics, there were many such tweets doing the rounds which triggered similar speculation.
