South Africa Women’s captain, Laura Wolvaardt played the best knock of her ODI career in a match against Sri Lanka Women in Potchefstroom on April 17, 2024. Batting first, the Proteas Women posted a total of 301/5 in their 50 overs. Wolvaardt played a captain’s knock of 184*(147) scoring 23 fours and four sixes and went on to put the highest individual score by South Africa in Women’s ODI. However, her knock went in vain as Sri Lanka chased the winning target in 44.3 overs losing four wickets with the skipper Chamari Athapaththu scoring 195*(139 balls).
