Chennai Super Kings are set to practice in Surat from 8th to 22nd March before the 2022 Indian Premier League season. The Super Kings enter this season as four-time champions as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2021 IPL final.

According to reports, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) will announce the entire schedule for the upcoming IPL season next week. The tournament will be held in Maharashtra to avoid flight travel across the country. Reports also say that the final will be played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad.

After the Auction, the Chennai Super Kings are looking like one of the top teams in the 2022 IPL. The management has tried to recreate a roster similar to their last triumph which is a mix of seasoned veterans and dependable young players. Chennai’s biggest strength will be the coach-captain duo of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Stephen Fleming who have successfully worked together for years. These two individuals have the ability and experience to get the best results from any given team. The leadership has always managed to assign roles and expectations to all members of the team which leads to clarity and top performances.

But Chennai’s biggest weakness lies in the fast bowling and finishing department. The Men in Yellow picked up Chris Jordan and Adam Milne who have gone for runs in their past stints in the IPL. Then their other liability is their lower batting order where the burden of finishing is often pushed on the shoulders of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.
