Chennai Super Kings’ skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is inarguably one of the most popular cricketers to have played the game. The fandom that the 41-year-old enjoys in the Indian subcontinent and across the world speaks for itself. Though his popularity has no measure, the devotion that people have for him was on display since day 1 of the IPL 2023. The craze among fans for the former India skipper was visible during the final game of the season, where CSK were to take on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Fans travelled from other cities to see their favourite cricketer play live, but as rain played a spoilsport during the final game of the IPL 2023, they were left with no choice then to sleep at the Ahmedabad railway station. The match got pushed to reserve day, May 29, and being left with no choice and high hotel fares, several fans donning CSK jersey were spotted spending their night at the station. A video has gone viral on social media which shows fans at the station at 3am in the night. Not only this, on being asked, they said they travelled only to see MS Dhoni.

Notably, it started raining around 6:30 in the evening during the toss time and continued for a few hours. The summit clash was then pushed to reserve day on May 29, hoping to not be interrupted by rain. On the reserve day final, the Chennai-based franchise will lock horns with the reigning champions Gujarat Titans to clinch their fifth title and give their skipper, MS Dhoni, probably a victorious send off.
