MS Dhoni is a massive public figure in India. He is one the most popular cricketers in a country of a billion plus. It is not a secret that passionate fans can go to any extent to catch a glimpse of Dhoni or get his autograph or miss out on an opportunity to get clicked with him. Quite a similar incident happened in Dhoni's hometown in Ranchi, where the veteran cricketer visited the Dewri Temple to seek the blessings of God.

Dhoni often visits the temple and continued the tradition this year as well, paying a visit to the shrine along with his childhood friend Simat Lohani, also known as Chittu. Given that a superstar was going to enter the temple premises, heavy security was deployed in that area. Dhoni also didn't disappoint and acknowledged the presence of his fans, happily giving away a few autographs while also posing for a few pics.

Dhoni will next be seen in IPL 2021

The former Indian captain had announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August 2020. He was last seen in action in IPL 2020 which was staged at the three venues across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dhoni led CSK had a poor run in the tournament last year and did not qualify for the Playoffs for the first time in a tournament in which they participated.

Dhoni will next feature in the 2021 edition of the blockbuster league. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to host the biggest T20 spectacle in India. Chennai included English all-rounder Moeen Ali and roped in Krishnappa Gowtham, Cheteshwar Pujara, M Harisankar Reddy, K Bhagath Varma, and C Hari Nishaanth in the IPL Player's Auction 2021.
