Former India captain MS Dhoni, who turned 40 on Wednesday, looks set to continue being the captain of the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The same is being learned after the franchise CEO Kashi Vishwanathan suggested that he could stay for at least a year or two.

In a statement to a news agency, Vishwanathan said that he does not see any reason why Dhoni should stop as he very fit and continues to train and work hard on his game.

"He can continue for another one or two years with CSK. He is fully fit, trains a lot. Don't see any reason why he should stop," Viswanathan was quoted as saying by IANS on Wednesday.

37 runs in 4 innings in IPL 2021 for MSD

For now, the former World Cup-winning skipper will continue to lead the team once the 2021 season of the IPL, which was suspended owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, resumes in the United Arab Emirates in September- October. Although his performance with the bat hasn't been up to the mark in the first half which happened in April-May, his leadership revived the Chennai of old times as they maintained a firm position in the top half of the points table.

MSD, who has just managed 37 runs in 4 innings in the tournament so far, would look to regain some of his lost form and further strengthen the team which is currently at the second position with five wins in seven matches.
