Mumbai Indians' most expensive signing in IPL, Cameron Green, is set to undergo surgery in the coming days after suffering a grave finger injury during boxing day Test match against South Africa. Notably, Green and Mitchell Starc sustained serious injuries during the 2nd Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Reports have confirmed that experts have advised Green to undergo surgery to fix a fracture to his right index fingers. However, doctors are optimistic of the Green’s recovery in four weeks, by the time Australia will tour India for four-Test match. This means that Green will be available for the full IPL.

In his latest interaction with cricket.com.au., Cameron Green revealed that he knew he had suffered a serious injury immediately after getting hit. “You try to not show the pain straight away. I marked my guard again and walked a couple of steps and I was like ‘I reckon my finger is out of place here. As I checked on it and it looked a little bit inverted is only way, I can explain it. It already had a big cut in it, then I got the bad news after the scan,” Green said.

Notably, Mumbai Indians brought the Aussie all-rounder Green for a whopping sum of Rs. 17.50 crore at the IPL 2023 auction.
