India’s 2007 T20 World Cup hero Joginder Sharma announced his retirement from international cricket a few days back. Although the Haryana cricketer did not represent India at the highest level for long, the memories of Sharna’s match-changing over at the T20 WC Final against Pakistan are still fresh in Indian cricket fans’ minds. As Sharma announced his retirement, wishes from all corners poured in.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also thanked Sharma for his contributions to Indian cricket and wished him best for the future. “A member of #TeamIndia’s triumphant 2007 ICC World Twenty20 Championship side! Congratulations on your cricketing career and best wishes for the road ahead, @MJoginderSharma,” tweeted BCCI while replying to Sharma’s note.

Meanwhile, fans were quick to point out that Murali Vijay also announced his retirement a few days ago and BCCI did not bother to share any message despite Vijay’s immense contributions. “So #BCCI thanks and congratulates #JoginderSharma hours after his retirement but they still don't know that #murlivijay has retired 4 days back,” tweeted a user.

A few users were also quick to comment on BCCI’s tweet about Sharma’s retirement. “I missed seeing any such message for monk,” said one user.
