India defeated West Indies in consecutive ODIs to seal the three-match series. However, West Indies bowlers made things hard for the Indian batters. While few India batters did reasonably well in the two matches, former skipper Virat Kohli, who recently quit captaincy from all forms of cricket failed to score big in both the games.

Although Kohli failed with the bat, he contributed in other departments like fielding and assisting Rohit Sharma with successful reviews. He scored a couple of boundaries in the 1st match before getting dismissed by Alzarri Joseph at the score of 8-runs. Kohli's poor outing continued in 2nd game as well. He could only score 18 runs off 30 balls before being dismissed by Odean Smith. Despite failing to score big, Kohli has been a top-notch player and highly regarded by all due to his incredible performances in the past. West Indies' standout bowler Odean Smith who clinched two crucial wickets, including Kohlis in the 2nd ODI, expressed his excitement over dismissing the second-seeded player in ICC Men's ODI Rankings on social media. Taking to Twitter, Smith wrote, "My dream of taking the wicket of world best batsman Virat Kohli fulfilled - I am very happy about it."

While Odean Smith was left out from the 1st ODI, he impressed everyone with his bowling in the 2nd game. He dismissed Rishabh Pant (18 off 34) and Virat Kohli (18 off 30) in quick succession to provide much-needed breakthroughs to his skipper. Smith finished the game with impressive stats; he conceded only 29-runs in seven overs. He bowled with an economy of 4.10.

While India has already sealed the series, the 3rd ODI between both teams is expected to be another thriller. India will be hoping for white-wash, West Indies will be expecting to bounce back and register a maiden win in the series. India is expected to make a few changes in the squad in 3rd ODI as Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi may be given a chance.
