National Games 2022 Live Updates: Services take the 4th consecutive National Games title, Maharashtra & Hayana take 2nd & 3rd place

The 36th edition of National Games will be held in Gujarat between 27 September till 10 October.

The National Games are all set to return after a gap of seven long years. Notably, the last edition of the National Games was held in Kerela in the year 2015. The 36th edition of the National Games is set to commence in Gujarat from September 27. 

The Games will be hosted across six cities in the state. Around 8000 athletes are in line to participate in the multi-disciplinary event across the cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodra, Rajkot & Bhavnagar. Only cycling event will be held in Delhi in this edition. In the 36 disciplines of the sports, Mallakhamba & Yogasana are two new addition for the 36th edition.

Talking about the last edition, that was held in 2015, Services finished first with a total of 91 medal, followed by Kerela and Haryana, finishing second and third respectively.

The table tennis team including Manika Batra, G Sathiyan are some prominent names to headline the tournament, with Neeraj Chopra, Bajrang Punia and Sharath Kamal already out due to injuries and rehabilitation.

37th edition of National Games announced

With the culmination of the 36th National Games, the 37th edition of the Games have now be announced. The next edition will take place in Goa in 2023.

Services Sports Control Board win their 4th consecutive title

Services Sports Control Board once again finished at the top of the table with 61 gold medals and 35 & 32 silver & bronze medals respectively. With this, they have won their 4th consecutive National Games title.
