After a roller-coaster race in Japan, Formula One travels across the globe to the United States to host the US Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. Like every year, the 2022 weekend promises to be an entertaining affair as the COTA website has announced the artist lineups for the race.

These artists perform across the massive COTA campus and are another major attraction for the fans. This year, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is set to take the centre stage as he will be performing a specially curated set on 23 October immediately following the race. The former NBA MVP has emerged as one of the top DJs and is known for some of the most entertaining shows under the DJ Diesel moniker.

This will be Shaq’s second appearance at United States GP as last year, the four-time NBA champion was the presenter of the winner’s trophy. But this time, the former Lakers centre will perform on a lofted stage over the podium after the race, and fans can stand on the track to watch him.

Along with Big Diesel, Green Day and Ed Sheeran are the headliners over the USGP weekend. More than 30 artists will be performing on multiple stages around the track. The Stage lawn area of COTA will hold over 80,000 fans to sing and dance, where people can pick from seven different stages and roaming performers throughout the campus.

Talking about last year’s race in Austin, Shaq was the top celebrity in a crowd of stars comprising actor Ben Stiller, rapper Meghan Thee Stallion, golfer Rory McIlroy and tennis champion Serena Williams.

As mentioned earlier, the four-time NBA champ presented the winner’s trophy but before that ceremony, Shaquille O’Neal pulled up to the podium in a top-down Mad Max-inspired longhorn car with the trophy, photos of which still are making the rounds of the internet.
