Star Indian athlete and two-time Olympic medallist, Neeraj Chopra recently confirmed his participation in the upcoming Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 athletics meet, set to be held on June 24 in the Czech Republic. The Indian ace javelin thrower, who was initially set to start his competitive year at the Doha Diamond League on May 16, has now confirmed to feature in the Ostrava Golden Spike meet.

The event organisers on Thursday, May 8 confirmed Neeraj Chopra’s participation in the upcoming event. In 2024, Chopra was present at the event as a special guest after withdrawing from the prestigious international athletics meet in Czech Republic in 2023 and 2024.

"I am excited to announce that I will take part in the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava this year. It is a legendary race and this year will be exceptional," Neeraj said in a press release issued by the organisers of the tournament. "My coach Jan Železný has not only won there many times but also acts as the director of the whole event," added Neeraj.

“I feel great and I hope you will see really nice and far-reaching feasts. I look forward to meeting you all,” he added. It is to be noted that the upcoming event is set to attract top field, including 2020 Olympics silver medallist Jakib Vadlejch, who will come in as home favourite.
